The Asheboro ZooKeepers celebrated Christmas in July at McCrary with the Savannah Bananas on Monday, July 25th.

Trent Youngblood started the ZooKeepers off strong. A first pitch home run put the ZooKeepers on the board in the bottom of the first.

Savannah scored one on two singles in the top of the third to tie up the game.

The top of the fifth proved to be difficult for the ZooKeepers. A leadoff triple followed by two singles loaded the bases. An additional single later in the inning scored two, giving Savannah the lead.

The top of the seventh added one more for the Bananas.

Late game pitching struggles from Asheboro sealed the deal, with Savannah plating seven in the top of the ninth.

The ZooKeepers three errors on the night heavily contributed to their 11-1 loss. The team will host the Carolina Disco Turkeys in an Exhibition game tomorrow, July 26th.
