When the Asheboro Copperheads’ Fall Baseball League began in early September, the first few weeks of games were marred by covid and rainy weather. So many of those regular-season games that were postponed were rescheduled for this week. That pushed the tournament into next week, the first week of November.

Because three teams have decided to opt out of the tournament in the past 48 hours – mostly due to losing players to the start of basketball and wrestling season – and with a couple of other teams having problems fielding a complete team, there will be no tournament and the season will conclude today with what should be a very fun matchup to watch.

The Comets and Spinners will play at 5:30 p.m. at Kiwanis Park to close out the season. These two teams have not played one another before with the Spinners a perfect 10-0 on the season and the Comets 6-2-1.

We would like to thank everyone involved for participating in this year’s Fall League. We hope it was beneficial to each and every team.
