Bio

Melissa Godwin is the lifeblood of the Asheboro Zookeepers organization. With decades of experiences of being a multisport coach, college athlete and educator working with athletes and the community, impact has always been her forte. After spending years with the UNCG program which she has family roots in, she felt a sense of energy and impact on young athletes and baseball again and joined the ZK Family to continue to grow that support in baseball. With 26 years of winning seasons as a coach in softball, basketball and volleyball, Godwin knows all about continuing the tradition of excellent sports while also making a massive emphasis on family fun entertainment for all viewers and fans. Melissa has always been a competitor whether it was when she held all-state track records in North Carolina or sliding into an assistant coaching role at University of South Carolina Upstate after being a star player in the program. Bringing her fighting spirit and love of the game to Asheboro is the exact reason why we are so thankful and excited to have Melissa as the GM of the Zookeepers.
