Incoming Copperhead Trevor Marsh has been named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week after leading his team, UNCW, to a weekend sweep against opponents College of Charleston and the South Division title.

Marsh, an Asheboro native, hit .545 (6-for-11) in the series, two home runs, scored four runs and knocked in seven. In the eighth inning of Game 3, Marsh hit a grand slam on that capped a six-run outburst allowing UNCW to turn a 4-2 shortfall into an 8-4 lead.

In Game 2 the UNCW Seahawks were down 6-3 entering the bottom of the eighth before drawing even with a three-run frame. In the bottom of the ninth Marsh ended the game 7-6, securing the series win and division title.

Marsh will be coming back home this summer to play with the Copperheads who kick off their season this upcoming Tuesday in a face-off against Fuquay-Varina at McCrary Park at 7:05pm, live on FloBaseball.
