The Asheboro ZooKeepers hosted the Forest City Owls on Thursday, July 21st. 

 

A close game through six, Hunter Shuey only gave up two runs through 5.1 innings pitched. 

 

The team fell apart in the seventh, going through three pitchers and allowing 11 runs in the top of the inning. 

 

The ZooKeepers prevented a run rule loss by plating three in the bottom of the seventh. Drew Tyndall scored on a wild pitch and a Trent Youngblood double added two more runs for the ZooKeepers. 

 

Forest City added two runs in the top of the eighth and five in the top of the ninth. 

 

The ZooKeepers took the loss with a final score of 20-4. The team hopes to bounce back on Friday as they travel to Lexington to take on the Blowfish.
