The Asheboro ZooKeepers headed down to Wilmington to face the Sharks on Wednesday, June 8th.

Wilmington came out swinging in the third, racking up three runs on four hits.

That momentum continued for the Sharks who ended the night with nine runs on ten hits.

With four games in the past three days, the ZooKeepers with an unfinished roster looked to pitcher Johnny Maynard, a closer, to start the game.

Lance Blaszak, Drew Fisher, Connor Smith, and Trent Youngblood all entered the game in relief.

The ZooKeepers struggled to get the bats going, putting up their only runs of the night in the seventh.

Andrew Grande and Ryan Waldschmidt led the team in hits tonight, both contributing two in the game.

The ZooKeepers look to Thursday where they will face Forest City in a double header at McCrary.
