The Asheboro ZooKeepers hosted the Carolina Disco Turkeys for an exhibition matchup on Tuesday, July 26th.

The Disco Turkeys got on the board first, with two runs in the top of the first and two more in the top of the second.

Four straight walks to start the bottom of the second allowed for Asheboro to get on the board. With the bases loaded, Bobby Falese knocked one out of the park, adding four runs for the ZooKeepers.

An Ethan McKay sac-fly added another run for the ZooKeepers in the bottom of the third.

The bats were hot in the bottom of the fourth to grow the ZooKeepers lead. Quinten Collins started off the inning strong with a lead-off single.

That was followed by Bobby Falese’s second home run of the night. Singles from Justin Wilcoxen, Bryce Marsh, and Michael Zarrillo closed out the inning bringing the run total to 4 for the inning.

Carolina was able to add a run in the seventh, when the ZooKeepers had a position player on the mound and four pitchers in the field.

The ZooKeepers ended the night with a 10-5 victory. They look to finish out the season strong as they face off against the Wilmington Sharks on Thursday, July 28th.
