The Asheboro ZooKeepers headed to Forest City to face off against the Owls on Saturday, July 16th.

The third inning brought runs for each team, with the ZooKeepers scoring on a single from Drew Tyndall.

Asheboro added two more in the top of the fourth. Those came as a result of an error by Forest City’s first baseman.

Forest City tied it up in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two on two hits.

The top of the sixth and seventh each brought an additional run for the ZooKeepers. Carson Ozmer crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the sixth and Bryce Marsh crushed a homerun in the seventh.

The bottom of the seventh provided Forest City with a strong lead. Pitching struggles from the ZooKeepers allowed the Owls to plate seven.

Forest City added a run in the eighth, bringing them to eleven runs on the night.

The ZooKeepers were able to add a run in the ninth, but were unable to overcome the seventh inning.

The ZooKeepers head back to McCrary to host an exhibition game on Sunday before hosting Forest City again on Monday.
