The Forest City Owls traveled to Asheboro on Thursday for a double header.

The ZooKeepers struck first in game one, scoring after leadoff batter, Ryan Waldschmidt, was able to get on base on a fielding error.

Asheboro was not able to cross the plate again.

Forest City collected five runs on nine hits.

ZooKeeper pitching had a decent outing in the first game, only using two pitchers through the seven inning shortened game.

Starting pitcher John Owen pitched for 5.1 innings allowing three earned runs. He was followed up by Patrick Libby who finished out the game allowing one hit and one run.

In game two, Forest City was able to put up three runs in the top of the third.

The ZooKeeper’s were never able to catch up, scoring runs in the third and fifth.

Asheboro’s pitching was carried by two new additions from UPENN, Carson Ozmer and Danny Heintz.

The final score for game two was 3-2 Forest City.

With new guys coming in daily, the ZooKeepers hope for a change in their momentum as they face off against Martinsville at home on Friday, June 10th.
