The Asheboro ZooKeepers traveled to Holly Springs on Friday, July 8th.

Asheboro got on the board first, when Holly Springs walked in a run in the first inning. That was matched in the bottom of the first when a Holly Springs single resulted in a RBI.

In the second inning, the ZooKeepers scored two on continued pitching struggles from Holly Springs.

The bottom of the second brought four runs for the Salamanders.

Holly Springs would put runs up in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings as well.

The ZooKeepers started a late rally in the top of the ninth inning. Hits from Ronald Evans, Justin Wilcoxen, Alex Pendergast, and Trent Youngblood scored three runs.

Unfortunately, the rally fell short and the ZooKeepers fell to the Salamanders with a final score of 6-10. The ZooKeepers look to get back in the win column tomorrow when they host the Wilson Tobs.
