The Asheboro ZooKeepers faced off against the Lexington County Blowfish on Thursday, June 30th. 

 

The bottom of the second brought four runs in for the ZooKeepers. Doubles from Drew Tyndall, Trent Youngblood, and Kennedy Jones accounted for all four RBIs. 

 

Both teams added a run in the third inning. 

 

Lexington put up one run on a solo homerun in the top of the fourth. 

 

The bottom of the fourth added two runs for the ZooKeepers. Ethan McKay got on base with a double and then scored on a wild pitch. Trent Youngblood layed down a bunt and crossed the plate on a Bryce Marsh sac-fly. 

 

Two doubles in the top of the fifth scored two for the Blowfish. Hits from Trent Youngblood and Kennedy Jones scored three in the bottom of the fifth for the ZooKeepers. 

 

Both teams added one more run throughout the course of the game. 

 

In the end, the ZooKeepers defeated the Blowfish with a final score of eleven to five. This is the fourth straight win for the ZooKeepers, who look to stay hot when they travel to Holly Springs on July 3rd.
