The Asheboro ZooKeepers hosted the Catawba Valley Stars in an exhibition game on Sunday, July 17th.

Hits from Carson Ozmer, Nate Polo, and Drew Tyndall put the ZooKeepers on the board first, with two runs in the second. 

Catawba Valley scored two in each inning during the third, fourth, and fifth. 

The bottom of the fifth added a run for the ZooKeepers. Michael Zarrillo crossed the plate on a Stars error. 

Catawba Valley added one more in the sixth and three more in the seventh. 

Five errors from the ZooKeepers allowed for the Stars to capitalize and end the game with 10 runs. 

In this seven inning contest, the ZooKeepers fell with a final score of 10-3. This game will not count towards Coastal Plain League action. The ZooKeepers hope to change the tides tomorrow, July 18th, as they face off against Forest City.
