It was all treats for Zeke on Saturday at the 14th annual Trick or Treat in the Park as countless ghosts, Spiderman, dinosaurs, princesses, PAW Patrol, Batman and thousands of other Halloween costumed kids filled North Street in Asheboro to participate in the event.

An estimated 3,000 kids participated as did almost two dozen local businesses, churches and civic groups. The Asheboro Fire Department and the Police Department were among those there to hand out candy. Our very own ZeKe made his appearance, as he welcomed families by taking pictures, giving hugs and countless high fives.

“It was a great deal of fun seeing all the kids in their costumes,” the Asheboro ZooKeepers’ Dennis Garcia said. “There was some incredibly creative costumes and all the kids seemed to be having a great time. I know the people from the City of Asheboro and the Cultural and Recreational Services put  a lot of work into this. It was fun having it after a couple of years.”

“It went very well,” said Jody Maness of the ACRS. “I was pleased to have such a big crowd since we hadn’t had it in two or three years. Everything went well and we had a good mix of businesses, churches and groups .”

Anytime we can invest in our community and make an impact is a good day. We hope that you made lifelong memories as you dressed up, went through your candy aferwards and shared precious time with your family and friends.

So from our ZOOKEEPERS FAMILY to YOURS…. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
