Bio

Born and raised in Asheboro, Doug is a 1975 graduate of Asheboro High School, playing three years of baseball and football and two years of basketball for the Blue Comets.

A 1979 graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne, he played three seasons of football for the Bears.

He is a member of Mid-State Rotary Club and a two-time inductee into the Asheboro High School Hall of Fame, earning those honors for his many years of volunteer service and for being a member of the 1975 Blue Comets WNCHSAA championship baseball team.

Married to the former Ruth Edmiston Miller, the couple has three children Kathryn (Eric), John (Michelle) and Sarah (Andy) and six grandchildren: Landon, Kenzie, Owen, Robert, James and Maddi.
