The ZooKeepers took the trip down to Lexington County Baseball Stadium to face the Lexington County Blowfish on Monday in the first of two games between the teams this week as the ZooKeepers were defeated 11-1 in a seven-inning run-rule contest.

The Blowfish scored first in the bottom of the first inning making the lead 1-0 but the ZooKeepers answered back with a run of their own thanks to four straight walks issued by the Lexington County starter.

That would be the extent of the ZooKeeper offense, as the Blowfish proceeded to tag on 10 runs in four innings and close the game out after seven full.

The ZooKeepers look for a much needed bounce back win tomorrow on July 4 as they face the Holly Springs Salamanders at home at McCrary Park. You can catch the 7 p.m. first pitch on FloSports. Gates will open at 5 p.m. as the ZooKeepers will host pre-game hot dog eating and cornhole competitions.
