ZooKeepers Cannot Overcome Early Deficit
The Asheboro ZooKeepers faced off against the Wilson Tobs on Wednesday, June 22nd.
Homeruns in each of the first four innings gave the Tobs an early lead.
The ZooKeeper’s bats came alive in the sixth. Singles from Carson Ozmer and Alex Pendergast allowed for two runs to be scored.
Pitching struggles in the top of the seventh allowed Wilson to add four more runs.
A fifth homerun on the night for the Tobs gave Wilson two final runs in the top of the eighth.
The ZooKeepers stayed consistent in the back half of the night.
Asheboro added two runs in the seventh on four walks. The eighth added two runs on continued pitching struggles from the Tobs. A Kennedy Jones double knocked in two in the ninth.
Although the ZooKeepers scored two runs in the sixth through the ninth, they could not come back from their early deficit.
The ZooKeepers look onto a home game tomorrow against the Holly Springs Salamanders.
