ZooKeepers Outslug Chili Peppers, Bounce back with 14–9 Win

The Asheboro ZooKeepers bounced back in a big way Friday night, exploding for 14 runs in a high-scoring 14–9 victory over the Tri-City Chili Peppers at McCrary Park.
Fast Start Sets the Tone
Asheboro (18–12) came out swinging, plating four runs in the bottom of the first and adding three more in both the second and third innings to build a 10–1 lead. Seojun Oh led the charge with four RBIs, including a three-run homer, while Jarrett Pokrovsky launched a three-run shot of his own and added three stolen bases.
Jake Griffith also went deep, finishing with two RBIs and two walks, and Davis Germann scored four times despite not recording a hit.
Late Push by Tri-City Falls Short
The Chili Peppers (10–19) made things interesting, scoring three runs in both the seventh and ninth innings to cut into the deficit. Brantley Truitt and Noah Quarless each had two RBIs, while Jackson Woolwine reached base four times and scored once.
Despite issuing 12 walks, ZooKeepers pitching limited the damage. Hayden Mills picked up the win with a scoreless eighth, and Asheboro didn’t commit an error defensively.
Final: ZooKeepers 14, Chili Peppers 9
Asheboro managed just seven hits but capitalized on 14 walks and a Tri-City error to snap a three-game losing streak.
