Zookeepers Rally After Rain Delay in Exhibition Win Over Post 45

McCrary Park – May 27th, 2025
ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Asheboro Zookeepers opened their summer schedule with an exhibition matchup against Randolph County Post 45 on Wednesday night, overcoming an early deficit and a weather delay to finish strong offensively.
Post 45 took an early 1-0 lead before rain paused the game after the first inning. Once play resumed, the Zookeepers settled in at the plate and began to build momentum offensively over the next several innings.
Asheboro’s bats heated up after the delay, with the lineup stringing together quality at-bats and timely hits throughout the night. The Zookeepers continued to apply pressure as the game went on before putting together their biggest offensive inning in the bottom of the seventh.
The exhibition served as the first opportunity this season for the Zookeepers to take the field together and begin preparing for the summer ahead.
Asheboro will now turn its attention to its official season opener against the Boone Bigfoots in Boone, N.C. on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
