ASHEBORO – The Asheboro ZooKeepers will begin their 2022 season on the road against the Forest City Owls
tonight at 7 p.m.
The ZooKeepers are led by Head Coach Jeremy Knight, who is entering his second season as
Asheboro’s manager. Knight will be assisted by Zach Ullom and Patrick Barrett.
The team will start the season with consecutive road games, as renovations at McCrary
Park are not yet complete.
Catawba College hosted the team’s first practice of the season Wednesday morning, ahead of
Thursday’s opener.
Knight said the ZooKeepers are primed for the season opener.
“The guys look good, they’re all ready to go. All of them are itching to play and I know they’re
excited to get the season started,” Knight said.
The ZooKeepers are one of 14 teams in the Coastal Plain League this season.
After narrowly missing the playoffs last season, the ZooKeepers hope to make some noise during
the 2022 campaign.
The ZooKeepers are then scheduled to play in Holly Springs on Friday night.
